The fresco shows the story of King Totila who wants to know St. Benedict and sends speak with him a squire dressed as a king to see if the Holy notice the change, the squire knelt to the ground while Totila-which is the Re-sits next to it (only the servants kneel, the Kings did not kneel ever) but the look of St. Benedict is that you understand the trick behind a Totila his bodyguard held tight a dagger ready to intervene to defend the King.
